Default October/November 2014 Challenge : The Northern Lands

This week, I challenged Azelor and he challenged me.
    He challenged me to:

    - Make a map for the CWBP 2
    - The base map must be blank to respect the rules of the contest. So, you have to take a plot inland.
    - It can be anywhere but I would like if it could have some (or quite a lot of ) mountains.
    - The size should be 500 x 500 km but it's flexible. Each pixel is 4 km.
    - The final image should be several times larger than the original white empty map. I don't have any specific requirements here.
    - Labels: I have no ideas yet
    - Style: Something similar to the Irenar or Lenore map

Here's where I have so far, a rather mountainous land with a steppe to the east, and pine river valleys in the mountains.

Edit: How embarrassing, I copy and pasted the title from another challenge and forgot to change the title, could one with the power please change it to the "The Northern Lands"

I look pretty good so far!

Could you add some more mountains in the top center ?

Anndddd a pretty large update I think so myself.
I need to do details on the mountains, the steep hills, and a few other things and an incredible amount of tweaking, not to mention the shading.
I like the border that I made though.

Very nice update! And, not that it matters just yet but, don't forget to add ### Latest WIP ### so the thumbnail scraper picks it up.

Looks good though the rivers are a a bit too sharp compared to the soft linework of the other elements.

I meant to say this much earlier, but thank you for telling me that, otherwise I would of just plain forgotten.

@Max I've been thinking about that too, i'm not quite sure what I should do with it though, any suggestions?

I don't really know how you work...But sometimes when I want to add a very slight and subtle blur (without using the PS blurring effects that aren't very subtle), I'm just zooming and draw at 200% in PS. this gives this very slight blur. Though it's might be your brush or your brush setting that make it sharp, I don't know.
