Here is my work in Progress for the Realms of Tlacoploxtla.
Currently, my plan is to do this entirely OOOOOooooooooooooooooooold school. And by that, the only digital work to this will be scanning and posting.

hex and symbol is truly asking for punishment... especially on the hands!!!
I too decided to hand draw the map .... bout halfway done or so, just wanted to surprise everyone.... NK already did that tho... so, now there isn't any point in hurrying ...
NK, I seriously considered an aztec/olmac approach ... I'm _really_ glad I didn't. Your's is way better than I could have done with that theme...

So, I am finished with the map, now I just need to color it
So a little info about what I am doing here.
Did a little research on Mayan glyphs. They are written in Pairs, and read as shown below.
Additionally, I copied some of the Glyphs, others I made up, and some I changed up from originals.
Finally, the script on the right, the CITY/TOWN symbols match the map, and the large icons are to represent the chief Deity worshiped there.
From top to bottom:
The first two I made up the Symbol as I hadn't hit on this idea yet
Third is a Version of Everyone's most wellknown God: Quezalcoatl.
Fourth, is a stylized version of Tlaloc, or the Rain God.
5th is Xiuhtecuhtli, Personification of Life after Death, Warmth in Cold, etc. Basically a Duality God.
6th is finally another rendition of Quetzalcoatl.

Wow ! I especially like the right side of your map !
I know you're going for the hand-drawn look, and I think this is great.
FYI... someone over at the Dunjinni forums created a whole bunch of Aztec symbols. You may want to check those out for any future maps with this kind a look.
