    Default To all graphic-tablet users

    Mischief

This seems to be an interesting program. Nearly infinte canvas/zoom, layer support, vector based etc.
A free version is also available.

Would be cool to zoom into a regional or city map without limitations.

I just tried the free version - it's quite small. The pen tool is nice - it feels a lot like the one in SAI. It also has an interesting program translucency function (it makes the whole application window translucent). The free version only saves in it's own .art format though which limits the usefulness quite a bit.

The full version is only $25 though so I'm tempted to buy it and see what the features are like in the more complete version.

    Yeah, I'm curious as well.

I'll have to give this a try. As an aside:

If anyone's interested in that part, the SimmTrace software does that with any application window, though not strictly intended for that alone.

That looks interesting. I may have to try that out this weekend.
    Thanks for posting that Katto.

The ability to zoom in from a world map to a continent to a city to a street with this, is something I've always wanted to try

    Mischief software
I just bought the full version to see if it can fit into my workflow. So far it seems like it has a lot of potential.
However, there are some things that do make it a bit tricky to work with.
Various wacom commands don't function the same and that makes workflow difficult.
I will keep you all updated if I find it to be useful over time.

Thanks J. I would be interested to have your opinion on that.

So far the results are not promising.
So, Mischief is basically a vector drawing app. However it does not appear to have any text features - so for mapping that's a big minus.
While in the program, drawing is a pretty nice and clean experience. It's easy, fun and very lightweight. No real resource drain.
But once you want to export the real problems begin.
It utilized a native .art format which is fine but when I exported to .PSD the results looked nothing like the work inside the program.
Even exporting to jpg was no better. perhaps I have missed something that I should know in order to better export.

I will continue to try it out and see if that issue improves but the missing text features would sort of kill it for cartography uses I would say.
