Default Project: Building a 19th century German city

This was a project i did with 2 other guys. Our goal was to build a whole 19th century town, with the medieval central part, some nice 19th century quarters, maybe even industial areas.

However, we didn't even finish the town centre, but we've made good progress so far, which i want to show you in some rendered images.

At the moment, I'm not thinking about continuing the project, due to massive lack of time, but maybe this day will come in the future

Btw, the project was organised via a German architecture forum, i'll give you the link for the thread, most you will probably not be able to read all the German posts, but the images posted there can also give you a nice impression about the project.

    So here's the link: http://www.stadtbild-deutschland.org...=4896&pageNo=4

(Page 1-3 are not that interesting )

Even a small village is a massive undertaking. It makes ya respect those professional animators at Pixar, Dreamworks, and Disney. What you have so far looks good.

There's a reason why CG credits often include MANY different effects companies and some of them include a LOT of personnel. They hire a company with 50 people to draw and detail buildings, 8+ hours a day, 5+ days a week for a year in order to complete a city if that's what they need.

And they get paid well for doing that.
