Map Sulvan - fantasy map commission

Last year I was commissioned to make a map of the world of Kaleth for Aegin, Legacy and Lineage, a private based forum game. One of the team guys has recently developed his own world/setting for his DnD game and he commissioned me to do this black and white map. I used a style similar to the one I developed for my Lands of Dharn map, that I'm still practising on several black and white maps.

I love the details and diversity of the map. Especially the mountains and how the rivers flow from them and towards the sea.

Great job Max. I think this is one of your best maps of recent months. I'd rep you, but I can't at the moment.

Just lovely! I like the compass, the parchment/borders and the fact that even the labels are hand drawn.

My sentiments (and lack of Max-repping ability) exactly.

I just don't know how you're doing to put so many details and labels on a bw map without reading problems... Excellent!

Actually the labels aren't hand drawn but I tried to carefully pick up the right fonts to give that feeling

    Huh, a Max-map i haven't commented on?! Weird

Overall i like the map. The elements are, as almost always, quite convincing. I have to say though, the map is very busy, especially the lands. It's sometimes hard do see where, for example, forests begin and where it is only grassland etc. . Maybe that's clearer if you have a better resolution, but at this level of detail (zoomed in) it is not that "clean"/easy "to read".
