iCartographer is not yet a household name around the Guild, but if he continues to post work such as this you can bet he soon will be. I've not seen his equal for sprawling city-scapes. The detail work in this and other of his pieces mind-boggling, as anyone watching the time-lapse video on the original thread can see.

This is a absolutely stunning artwork, just like you say Arsheesh, without a equal. Can't imagine the time, and effort, put into this beautiful illustration. However, I personally think it's just that. A illustration, not a map.

    Cheers,

Plenty of elaborate technics in there - scaling, deformations, hyperbolical projections - quite impressive and nice to look at.
The detail in some buildings is extreme too. The base design must have taken quite some time.
But like Tainotim noted, for me too, this is a pleasant hypergeometric picture superposing unusual projections and scalings, not a map.

It's a kind of concept of extremely curved embedded space-times but using cities (http://www.visualphotos.com/image/1x...verses_artwork)

Congrats to the author in any case.

Wow iCart - I looked at this, then watched the video and I'm just sort of sitting here with my mouth open. This is really a nice piece here and thank you for sharing it with us. I can't imagine the time that went into it. I'm trippin'
