January 2015 Challenge: The Lands of Strigia

I had the idea a while back of a map using owl names, so that's what I'm finally doing here. All of the city states (in white) are named after a particular owl, and it is their sigil/mascot.

Here is the sketch of what I want laid on top of the crude map I've made, so expect it all to change drastically. Hopefully if I have time I can add a fancy border (similar to my Albion map) and incorporate the owls, but depending on how long this takes I might have to postpone that until after the contest ends.

Here it is so far, I've been working on the lines, mostly for the mountains. Kinda wish I went with a smaller brush, but eh, it's too late now. Also added some perspective in the landmasses.
