February Challenge: the City of Marasei

Guess now is as good a time as any to jump into this challenge!

For this challenge I'm going to show two, perhaps three, different stages of evolution for the "City of Marasei"(Placeholder name probably). The map that I'm giving a glance of here will be my main piece for the challenge, while the other stages in the evolution will be depicted in a much simpler way. And so, this will be the main focus for a large part of the challenge.

Drawing this I will take a lot of inspiration from Braun's city-maps, as well as the amazing maps that can be found in Atlas De Wit. The scale will be much smaller then I am used to, so we will see how it goes. And for once, I set out with the intention to color it.

Anyone who wants to is welcome to follow and give feedback to what I expect will be a long, tedious WIP

Been really busy last week, so almost had no time at all to get some drawing done. However, I've cleared my schedule for this weekend to really dwell deep into this piece! Some small progress though.
