Rep! Wonderful, this is really impressive! I'd try to use some masks or lock transparency (or something similar) to get smoother and less loose edges. Sure, it's one step more in the beginning but you save so much time working on this later on. some of the rivers look a bit out of perspective. I'd test if the meandering would look a bit more realistic if you enlarge them horizontally the closer they are to the viewer (hope this makes sense, Englisch isn't my first language). =)

I'd love to see this finished, keep up the good work!
    Cheers, Steffen

Great work so far ! I agree with Steffen though, some rivers look out of perspective.

    very awesome.

domino44 - judging by your avatar you would fit right in.. so maybe you do live there...

very painterly, gives a lot of feeling... also nice neutral grey color... its got just enough hue in it to give it life without detracting from the brilliant oranges and greens.. well done.

Great mountains and great colouring/colour scheme.
I'm curious to see how it will develop, but it yet seems a great work.

    Wow, thanks everyone!

Progress 6 (Been working on it for most of the day so far, switching from one task to another, but I guess the main thing is more detail on the mountains. Not sure if I should fade out the land into the blackness like on the right side, or cut it off like on the right. Leaning towards the fading out. Still so many things to decide. : s)

Trying not to get disheartened by this amount of work.

Was getting ahead of myself so went back and fixed a few things. Happier now with the lava in the mountains. (Giving myself more to do)

Feeling pretty down about the whole map now. I think I maybe took on too big a job. Maybe I'm trying to paint too much and am making it more complicated than it needs to be...but I don't know how to do this now. I no longer like the look of the map.

Need some opinions on how I should do this. One of the main things I'm stuck on is how I should render the land. Should it be abstract? Should it actually resemble the terrain? Should the edges be dark or light?

I'm far from being an expert for this kind of map... So, just want to say that what you have done until then is really gorgeous.
