My consideration for the annual challenge: a futuristic city created by robot warriors, Asgard. There is some background story behind of this whole thing...

I am wondering if a zoom-out version showing more of the city would be more interesting.

I like the 2nd one better, personally. Feels a little easier to grasp as a whole concept. But the WIP images should be preceded by this: ### Latest WIP ### so that they'll be picked up by the thumbnail scraper and become visible in the gallery. I look forward to seeing how this one progresses - it has a very different, interesting vibe to it.

Good that you like the 2nd one! I also prefer it for the same reason! It's easy for me to understand what's going on on the first WIP, but I think others may need more context. And I am pondering about a side view (2.5D) too! And I will have to start working on the other map elements such as a legend, frame and so on...
