Map The Heirs of Lydin -- Commission --

Both maps were commissioned by author Aidan Henessy for his upcoming novel "The Heirs of Lydin", with one being a regional map and the other one of the known world. Since both are the same size the world map ended up with a little bit less sophistication than its regional sister. Still, both were fun to work on, and I learned a couple new techniques in the process and was able to create a few useful brushes and elements for future use.

Nice work! I've lately been enjoying the look of B&W a lot, and these maps don't disappoint. The one thing I would say is that I kinda wish there was a stronger shadow on the mountains so they stand out a little more. That's just my opinion, and it might be a style choice, but I still really like the mountains.

Thanks, everybody. And you do have a point w/regards to the mountains. Especially at lower resolutions the greyscale does have its drawbacks.

Nice work, Wired! You're fast becoming one of those "Oh, cool, s/he has a new WIP/Commission/finished-map-Thread"-people for me
If i can, i'll Rep. you.

Looking good Wired. I understand your font choice for the sake of legibility on the second map though a serif font would maybe have matched better the medieval-ish capitalized font while keeping the labels legible.
I was also wondering why you went for only a couple of curved labels since you used mostly straight ones and you had room to put straight labels instead of the curved ones.
