Help Mapping a route on actual Earth

I am currently attempting to write a story based in an alter-Earth setting. The general geography is the same as in the real world circa 1000 AD.

I am trying to find someone who can help me plot out a course for a horse-drawn cart that is heavily laden that will take a set amount of time (approximately 4-5 years).

I would welcome any help, hints or suggestions on this.

The website http://orbis.stanford.edu/ might be helpful. It's basically a travel planner for the Roman Empire, and lets you plot trips by land or sea, with many kinds of transportation, and see how long they would have taken and how much they would have cost ca. 300AD. I don't know if the general level of infrastructure or the geographical location matches what you're looking for, but it's something to look at.
