    Default Howdee!

Hey all. I've been a member for a couple years but never posted. I've been drawing maps since I was a kid and am currently working on a hand drawn (Paint Shop and CS3) world that simulates an actual heightmap. I've attached an island (resized) for your perusal. Ultimately, I plan to create a topo color map of the world. Any advice is welcome.

You might be interested in browsing through this tut. It creates a sort of satellite feel to the map but that does seem to be where you are going.Seeing as how you already have a height field, I would suggest that you start around the point where he goes into using the gradient. If you want to further refine the height field take a few steps back and move forward from there. I too like the shape you have and am quite interested in where it goes.
