Default Colonizing an already colonized island.

Hey guys. How would a nation or country thats attempting to colonize an island react if there were already people living there? How would
the island-born people react to the colonizers? Would they go to war? Become friends? Form an alliance? Would either of the two peoples just leave?

Based on human history here on Earth, indigenous peoples are viewed as any other exploitable natural resource and are used in that manner. The precise results will depend largely on the moral systems of the colonizers as well as the relative technology levels of the populations. Things tend not to work out well for the less technologically-endowed.

If they are both just about as technologically advanced as the other?

A sufficiently advanced technology would probably result in a severe lack of island. The results would depend very much on why the island is being colonized, how many colonizers are trying to come in, population density, availability of resources, and so on. There would inevitably be disputes and disease might cause serious problems for one population or the other. There are just way too many variables to have a single answer.
