Thread: The Barrowlands Commission WIP

    Wip The Barrowlands Commission WIP

I'm currently working on a commission for Martin Lambert for the upcoming Heroe's Tears RPG and thought I'd start a thread showing the development of the map.

Here's the initial stage - a very rough and ready bit of concept art based upon conversations with Martin and a basic reference map. Now that we've agreed on the basic layout I'm moving to the linework stage, which will be the next WIP update.

    Cheers,
    -Arsheesh

Off to a great start Arsheesh! I already love the illustrations. Quite grim, but he, "Heroe's Tears" doesn't rhyme with doves & roses, does it ?

Are we on a riverbank? You've given a great impression of moving water along the shoreline.

This look's really neat, I especially like the pictures framing out the bottom. Can't wait to see what you'll do with the colour.

    Thanks everyone for the feedback.

@Jshoer, yest, that is one massive riverbank.

OK, linework is now complete. I felt that the bottom of the map was a bit too busy so instead I decided to go for a simple panoramic spread. Now it's time to color this baby.

I really like the look of that woodland/river area on the left. Kind of looks like a mangrove swamp or something, with the trees hanging over the rivers like that.
