    Map Ephram's Fork

This is a commissioned piece; a small town with some sort of cult problem. The original one was done on strathemore parchment paper in mostly ink and marker. For this one I wanted to change up how to actual layout of the town was presented, as the order was for a town at a crossroads but the sizing was for a vertical half page. So I did the top part as a layout of the town, and the bottom has all the actual buildings and such. It was just something I wanted to give a go, and the publisher was happy.

Here is a sort of before / after picture. On the left is the original image, with the goofed legend and whatnot. You can see where I was unhappy with the shape of some numbers, so I re did them off to the side and then used GIMP to add them back in over the crappy ones. The map on the right is a print out of the final version; I usually up the contrast and screw around with level settings to give the map more pop when it goes into the book. Blacks blacker, etc.

Thanks! Yeah the goal was definitely to try a new way of presenting the town, with the size constraints.

I like it! Very nice change from most of the works here. Good color balance as well.
