Default Salt Mountain - Fantasy Commission

Here is a map I have done for Granfalloon Games, for their game called 'Salt Mountain'. It will be a dark and evil fantasy game in an ancient Chinese setting. At the moment they are working on the historical background using this map as guidance. After that I will get the information needed to finish the labels and important features.

As always let me know what you think!

An interesting style, lots of flavour. I quite like the trees and the mountains. The whole map is a bit too dark, imo. It's hard to really see the map.
Ancient Chinese setting, you say? Cool, i will check it out when there's more information out.

Looks great, looking forward to seeing the final details come in and who doesn't love a dark and gloomy setting

The map itself is cool but if it's intended to be print, it will go even darker when printed which might be an issue for the sake of legibility.

Very nice map Daniel, though quite dark indeed.

Very dark and brooding. As others have mentioned, it may be a tad too dark, especially if it is intended for print. That being said there's great atmosphere here. I like the line-work.

I don't like that the features are on the image, rather than in the map. All the pretty trees and mountains and stuff just look like they are floating on top of some parchment, rather than stained into the paper, it makes the repeated/copy pasted portions pretty glaring. I do like how dark it is, and I really like the style; a lot of chinese/japanese style maps get way too cluttered and this one has great spacing and an unusual color palette for the style. Love it.

I love the dark style of this, and I think it'll work really well for a dark and evil fantasy.

My only comment is that you could try distressing the labels a little. The Chinese characters are so sharp and digital compared to everything else. It's particularly noticeable in the title, because it's larger.

    Overall, love what you've done.

Thanks everyone! The map is only meant to be shown digitally so printing won't be a problem (:
