    Post encounter map

For a map contest at Playfactory (see here), I made the following map.

Has anyone tips to improve it?

Looks pretty good to me, I don't see anything that really needs improvement.

I like the noose haning from the tree! Very foreboding!

I just wonder whether the mushrooms (champignions) are a little too big (but if it's fantasy then we always have big mushrooms in fantasy so that's ok).

Also the spiderwebs, lower the opacity a bit? They seem a little too white.

Otherwise no comments from me. Nice map, especially the road texturing.

All the lighting is very top down - everything has a universal dark surrounding glow. Perhaps a more directional light would help - and make the trees look a bit fuller and less flat.

Wow this is great and you have 0 rep ? What - let me see to that...

    Bonk !

The map is great. Photoshop with Dundjinni art on top ? All is pretty good but I think the trees could do with something. The leaves are bright on the outside but its very gray in the middle.

Just reading through the forum. We have until 20th Dec to enter a map there then

Also, whats J.D.R. mean in English ? Jouer D... Role ? Close ???

We don't have too many French on the Members Map !

Looks pretty darn good to me, maybe the webs bit but that has been stated already. Might want to do some shading on the covered wagon top. Nice job.

    Its a very nice map.

(This is really really picky stuff) I don't know if its the grid over top or something but it seems a little washed out. You could try some sort of grunge layer multiplied across the land, below the plants if you can. A shared slight darkening might pull it together and make your plants pop a bit.

I don't see anything that I can say "this is wrong" though.

Excellent map. I really like that road. That dirt looks familiar. You might use trees that don't have the transparency inside so all of the trees match. The ones with transparency are good if you have something underneath to see but I think full trees look better.

Thank you all for your advices.
I switched to non transparent trees. The point of using transparent trees was that the map is to be printed so I wanted to have more of the grid visible.
But I agreed thaht it now looks better.
I also reduced the brigthness of the webs and tried to make a less "top down" shading...
