Thread: My First Map

    Post Everything fine here!

Looks like this map passes inspection by the River Police!

If a 13 year old can it right, why would anyone not get it right?

Good first map - have some REP!

CC3 is best at creating overland maps and you really don't have to know much to do that. For me trying to create a dungeon with CC3 alone, that was far more troublesome for me. Plus I hate to wait, when I'm creating having to wait for anything to render or export would drive me crazy.

Since you're creating non-printed maps, that should be no problem for you.

Nice looking map Eoin. Looks a lot better than my first CC3 map!

One of the easiest things you can do in CC3 to make your maps smoother is to use the sheet effects. For instance, open up the sheet effects dialogue, select the sheet where your oceans reside (probably "sea contours" or something like that), and give it a "blur" with a radius of 50 and an opacity of 75 (found in the transparency effects). Play with the numbers a bit until it looks good to you.

CC3 isn't nearly as difficult as many people think. The easiest way to learn it is to read through the guide that came with it and map out the examples as you go along. By the time you get through it, you'll know 95% of the technical skills needed to be proficient with the software.
