I was able to view your original link this time.

Interesting, look forward to see where you take this.

To me, the red road lines overpower the country borders (black dotted lines). I'd switch them or lower the opacity of the red so that it's more pink or change it to a tan. If you're going to keep the grid, make the lines thinner and then the grid can serve a dual function...latitude and longitude as well as grid (you'd have to put in some numbers though).
If the radiance of a thousand suns was to burst at once into the sky, that would be like the splendor of the Mighty One...I am become Death, the Shatterer of worlds.

I'm assuming the dotted lines are borders? They don't seem to be listed in the map key with the rest.

Very nice, BTW... I can already tell there is going to be some stiff competition.

I also had to use Redrobes link - the others didn't work for me either.

    Here we go !

I fixed the problem of borders not being in the key.

I reduced the opacity of roads, deserts and marshes.

The only thing I haven't done is fixing the desert texture problem. I'm still working on it.

Oh, and I hid the grid in order to test the map without it...

Tell me what you think of it...

There is something to be said for simplicity, which is not to say that your map is simple. I rather like the straight forward presentation and particularly like both the font and land mass borders you are using. The symbols are clear and easily understood even without the Legend. Took me a while to load (slow connection here) but was well worth the wait.

They won't load for me for some reason, but they do look nice from what I can see in the thumbnails.

I had to use RedRobes Link from the first page, and I've noticed, at least in the last couple of days, that the "lightbox" has been taking an unusually long time to load, but clicking through to the actual image (so that it is displayed in the browser) seems to be okay, though depending on the size, it could take some time to finish loading.

All the links seem to be working for me. I click the mouse wheel to circumvent the lightbox though so that may have something to do with it.

This is coming along very nicely.
