    Default Greetings!

    Hello!

I finally join the website, after being consistently humbled by the talent of the posters here; in the hope that, maybe, some of this talent would rub on me...

I am quite a far cry from that, but I already used Ascension's guide (more specifically Giide's adaptation of it) to produce this:

It's far from very good but it's start...

Not bad, just a couple of things to try for next time. First, make your coastline a little more rough and jagged. Second, you don't need the land to be so bumpy, just the mountains, so smooth out the plains. Overall, good first effort, man.

    Thanks for the warm welcome!

I worked on the map a bit more, it now no longer looks quite as "rabitty" (sorry Master); and it's geography now is a bit more complex...
I also took the opportunity to had some roads and human settlements...

Land looks pretty good, ocean needs some blending.

Thanks; I am not sure how to do that, to be honest, I am pretty new at GIMP...

Welcome aboard. And don't worry, you will get it. I couldn't even follow a tutorial when I joined here....come to think of it, I think I still have trouble.

    Welcome, Simon.

Good first attempt - try to check the rivers again, imho they could need some adjustments in colour (maybe its the layer style you've used?!).
Perhaps pasis' tut here in the forum can offer some help with that.
It'll need its time, for sure - but by following those great tuts in here and some advice from the elders and betters, I'm pretty sure you'll make it.
