I love the style of these maps. They are just very nice to look at. The only thing that I can see that might be improvable is the rivers. There are a lot of sharp angles and straight lines when you look at them closely. However, if you zoom out a bit, it is not noticeable.

I had been noticing the rivers more and more. I’ve already redone the main rivers to be less jagged. I'll also be adding minor rivers as well. There won't be to many additions, but certainly something. Sadly I have had precious little time to work on it. Perhaps this weekend I'll have some time to invest.

I've also added more roads, towns, and cities to make the world feel less sparse. I plan on adding a couple smaller lakes in addition to the minor rivers.

    Thanks again for the comments!

I know its not much different, but here is the latest incarnation of the map. Some minor changes only. Rivers have been redone and the dead forests and marshes have been clearly defined. Some labeling has been started. A key has been started as well.

All relatively minor changes. So much left to do. *sigh*

Anyway, feedback would be great. Thanks

    It looks beautiful.

I might suggest toning down the colors in the compass, only just a tad, so that it doesn't stand out to starkly against the very subtle colors of the rest of the map. I was also thinking that, given the style of the map, those same colors might look even more awesome if they were unevenly worn and faded. That might be a bit more difficult to do, but it's a minor suggestion. Other than that, it's fairly-well stunnng.

The rivers look much better now. This is a great map, and a good mapping style!

Thanks for all the kind words everyone!

Just a quick note, I haven't had a chance to work on the map, but I did finally get a chance to sit down and put together a pack of the brushes and textures that I used in this map as well as my Comprehensive map of Avani. I posted the brushes in the Mapping Elements forum.
