February Entry: Liège, Zombie Town

My dear love,

If I'm writing to you, it is because I heard news on the radio about other cities - including yours - and I fear for your life. Since those things have risen from the grave, I can't help dreaming of your body torn by their claws. Please, come here, in Liège.

I have drawn a map for you, and here are some explanations about the situation here. Even if we are surrounded by those brain-eating things, people can't live together without fighting. There are five factions in town.

Yuri's Devils - These ones are mad. They often raid "Zombie Town" for riches of the dead inhabitants of the neighborhood. Sadly enough, most of them have risen from the grave and they don't come back often, only joining the ranks of the rising deads... Yuri is their charismatic leader, a man who came from the east on the eve of all this madness...

Human Army - The so called "human army" is a bunch of junkies playing with guns. Anyway, they could be of some help if someone tried to fight the zombies back...

Street Wisdom - Maybe the smartest ones in the hood... These guys are trying their best to make a better living for themselves, sometimes looting in other factions' places... But these guys know the place, and no one would dare starting a war with 'em...

Lady Chang - The Chinese mistress... The lady has her own "triad". Don't try fooling them, many have tried, and few still have their vocal chords in one piece to talk about it. Anyway, they are nice if you don't go too far. They could even let you in by the railway tunnels they own...

Church of Mercy - Those ones are really scary. They are kind of God's Army on earth... They believe all of this to be their Godly Trial to proof they are worthy of paradize... However, they have the best hospital downtown...

DMZ - This is where I live. The place where anybody can trade, drink, **** or whatever. The only thing no one can do is fighting - the milicia is aware of everything, and nobody tries to **** with 'em. In fact, the Devils tried once : result was no shops, no pub and no brothel opened during one whole week. They never tried again...

Fortress Hospital - The old hospital is still full of good stuff... and people who re-opened it built walls and gates to defend it... One thing is clear : if the moaning monsters make it into town, this would be THE place to be...

As you can see, even if those fools keep on fighting, we managed to have a decent living here... Since we managed to close the bridges, we never saw a zombie in town... And I have a nice place here, and I know some people... Maybe we could try to build a life, and a family here... We have to...
