    Map Thraeton

Thraeton is an alternate Earth I am developing. The abstract "clean" map style is rooted in the fact that I am not much of an artist. Most of the location names are placeholders until I get around to doing detailed world-building. I usually attempt to create realistic distributions of climatezones etc, so the map may undergo some revisions as I correct mistakes. I'm calling this map "done" because any future changes will be minor.

The map was created completely in Inkscape.

The WIP Thread can be found here: http://www.cartographersguild.com/showthread.php?t=4221

You can view the map as an overlay in Google Earth via this link: http://files.pandemonium.de/thraeton/thraeton.kml

The settlements have not been detailed. Most names are placeholders until I do more worldbuilding. In short, the people who live on this planet are imigrants form other parallel worlds including some that "got lost" on their way to America and ended up here. There are in-fiction reasons for this, but I didn't want to post too much background information considering this is a website about mapmaking and not so much the worlds themselves.

By all means, do it anyway

Always happy to hear some of the worldbuilding behind the map.
