Let me add some rep to that pile! I think this looks fantastic... it kinda reminds me of some of the maps in the Wheel of Time books. In the books it has maps with decorative borders and often nestled in the corner is a "front elevation drawing" of a castle or main city building.

I think this illustration conjures the imagination even more than a standard detailed map. Cheers!
