    Post Hedrea - WIP

I actually consider this finished, but you guys most likely will let me know otherwise. This started as a test to make a FT world and its mountains into a handrawn parchement map using Handsome Rob's tecnique. I thought it looked good enough to complete. Let me know what your thoughts are. Oh and the dragons are courtesy of a brush pack at brusheasy.com.

Very nice, Bohunk. Have some rep.
Love the crispy paper look and what you did to the mountains in the second version.

That is very nice, though I'd go with a slightly less strong paper texture.

    Looks great.

I agree about the paper texture - it's a little heavy and yu lose your mountains as a result. I like the subtle colour for the water, but I think you've gone the wrong way by having a more aturated brown on the mountains than the land. I'd make the land brown and desaturate for the mountains. That'll also help to define the lighter side of the mountains that is currently quite hard to pick out.

I love the dragons - I think I'll run over there to grab that pack myself. Very nice indeed.

I like it a lot, and these are just minor quibbles. If you are feeling particularly enthusiastic, I'd suggest warping the labels to fit the shape of the regions. It takes a while, but the result is worth it (and yes, this is from the person that didn't label his March challenge entry at all ).

I'm always amazed at the maps you create. You make it seem so easy. I can rearely generate half decent maps from FT.

Another bohunk special pushing the boundaries...this time with the cross hatch mountain style. I love the way you just produce something new and beautiful everytime you post a map.

I like both maps but especially the parchment version - it looks like it should be framed and put on a wall somewhere.

    Have some rep !

Thanks everyone for the kind words. I have listened and produced or reproduced this map a couple of different ways. I have reduced the "crinkles" or texture on both. On one I increased the highlights on the west sides of the mtns and on the other I tried it Torstan's way (at least I think this is what he suggested, if not let me know).

Thanks again for the suggestions and wonderful comments.

I really like that second one but I can't put my finger on the why. The first looks chocolatey and I just wanna eat it but I think the second blends the mountain cross-hatching better. I dunno for sure, my brain is kinda fried tonight.
