The Cartographers’ Guild is a forum created by and for map makers and aficionados, a place where every aspect of cartography can be admired, examined, learned, and discussed. Our membership consists of professional designers and artists, hobbyists, and amateurs—all are welcome to join and participate in the quest for cartographic skill and knowledge.
Although we specialize in maps of fictional realms, as commonly used in both novels and games (both tabletop and role-playing), many Guild members are also proficient in historical and contemporary maps. Likewise, we specialize in computer-assisted cartography (such as with GIMP, Adobe apps, Campaign Cartographer, Dundjinni, etc.), although many members here also have interest in maps drafted by hand.

Not that I would ever bank my argument on that
. Basically, there's a tiny portal at the bottom of the lake that connects it to the Elemental Plane of Water. The lake is constantly filling with water, hence why the lake survives the attrition of 7 rivers. The rivers are derived from God's original design (which included many other oddities, such as an entire mountain range eternally set on fire). Unfortunately, God killed himself due to a variety of reasons and with him went many of the oddities in the world, save the 7 rivers. Since then, each river has since come to represent one of the 7 columns of faith (aka this world's 10 Commandments).
