I've been DMing since 06 and only started playing D&D in early 05. Most my maps up till now have been hand drawn though I did do a few with a basic grid in paint for my own adventure module.

Anyway here to get ideas for maps and to learn to make them. I'm currently trying to learn to use a virtual table so I can DM for my friends who've moved away and for the ones stationed overseas. They all seem pretty excited about it.
Oh I'm using RP tools and have watched all the basic tutorials. right now I'm just playing around with it, testing it out, getting a feel for it. Hope by next week to test it with a friend to see how it works online maybe later if I can't figure out how to get macros working for 4e and monster stats in tokens etc.

That's about all there is to say. Oh and if I can ever find my old hand drawn maps, which were just guides for the battle mat, I'll try and scan a few and put them up here.

Welcome to the guild. Lots of help here for both making maps and using the VT stuff...the latter is mostly covered in the software discussion subforum.
