    Post New here

Hello. I'm just getting started with the whole cartography thing, though I've long admired maps in books I've read. The single map I've created from scratch (previous works were based on real landforms such as Australia) was for a book I wrote during National Novel Writing Month.

Needless to say, at this point I have none of the really nice programs or expertice for mapmaking on the level of some I've seen here. I am proud of how the map I made recently came out. I posted it on my Deviantart account and will probably put it up here at some point soon.

    Hiya, welcome aboard

Edit: Congrats on actually finishing a NaNoWriMo novel. That takes some serious work.

Welcome to the guild. Ya don't really need a lot of expensive software...there are some fine examples of MSPaint here Another free program is Gimp that has most of the bells and whistles you could ever want.

I found out about Gimp a couple years ago and downloaded it. I love it and with all the brushes around on places like DA it's easy to use. I actually used it on the map that I made (which I put up in my album here).
