Thread: The High Forest & Silver Marches

Map The High Forest & Silver Marches

This is a map of the High Forest region of the Forgotten Realms setting using RobA's tutorial found here.

As per advice from my previous map (Moonsea Region), I've tried to darken the forested areas for better contrast with the surrounding grassy areas.

I'm still trying to get better results on making more "elevated" looking mountains and bedeviled rivers.

Very pleasing to look at; nice colors, clear labels, that sort of thing. Your missing a scale and a compass, though. Hope you do some more

Hi guys, thanks for the comments & rep

Re: a compass and scale, it's something I haven't attempted to do yet, so I'll see what I can come up with. I don't remember if RobAs tutorial covered that part of it (I need to go back thru that thread and see).

    thanks again...

The font "Fantasy Clipart" has a fairly nice compass rose already in it ('w' key), and there are some other compass rose fonts out their if you don't want to try and draw one.

PR Compass Rose is a font I use all the time.

Your map has a very fantastic quality to it, very story-book. I like to see styles that are unique and still pleasing to the eye. Good job!
