    Review

Still Pond was inspired to create this beautiful city map from maps he had seen posted on the Guild. Based on a google earth image of the city of Gijon in Spain, with a steam punk feel. Still Pond was kind enough to give us a glimpse of his methods (click the thread link below). As any mapper will tell you, city maps are perhaps the hardest and most time-consuming to draw. The wealth of detail in this one is beautiful as is the water colour look and feel.

A featured map with no replies in the thread. :S

I just thought I'd reiterate that I love this map. It's amongst the best city maps I've ever seen on here.
It's just the overall feel of the map that does it for me. The watercolour effect with the border and the fields.

    Superb stuff.

I hadn't seen this one before...saw the post and thought it was new. I love it. Nice color scheme and I really dig the simple style of the buildings, etc. Reminds me of Carthusal. Also nice are the "pollution" border and name plaque. Good one. Repped.

I particularly like the treatment of the outlying farms - overall the watercolor effect is very nice but a bit low-rez looking in places.

Gorgeous map. Were the buildings all drawn from scratch? (have some rep btw)

Indeed, I had not seen this one before. It is a truly great city map.
