Post Celtic island regional - a commission

The Isle of Forgotten Gods - a regional map for a small RPG publisher. Not allowed to tell much about it. Its done in my hand-drawn/Xara enhanced style. Note the strange waterfall flowing from the sea into the bay...hmmm.

    Enjoy!

    Post Client's choice

I just map them like they ask. And they didn't ask for my river police expertise so I don't judge, I just collect a paycheck!

    Don't cry too much!

In high school a guy in art class had an island with several rivers flowing from the sea to a big hole in the middle of the island. The hole was formed when the mountain that the rivers used to flow down from got magically transported. The rivers reversed then reversed direction to flow into the hole. His eyes were shining so brightly at his great idea and pretty artwork that I didn't have the heart to point out that the rivers would have had to flow uphill a considerable ways to get to the hole...

    Post Not quite the same.

Actually its not quite the same here. That lake and river flow to the bay, just as the sea flows back into the bay, something to do with access to an alternate plane of existence I think. Where the water in that place actually comes from here. Its more magically than a physical hole, but this was the specific needs of the client. They know its not realistic, but it just fits their setting idea. Otherwise the island seems to fall under natural laws in all other ways.
