Niil's cosmology
Hi !
It's not technically a map but I think it can be accepted in this forum.
Because of the holidays, I have a lot of time to work on my world, Niil.
During the last 48 hours, I have concentrated my efforts on the representation of the cosmology.
This is the result. Everything is made with the GIMP and my mouse ^^. I hope you'll like it !

I really like this stuff too. I think I'm going to repeat the method with all my maps :
First, do the map like RobA in his tuto, using filters and noise and bump map.
Then trace all the contours (I'm not sure it's the correct word ... (I'm french) do you understand what I mean ?) with the calligraphy tool on a transparent layer.
Put this new layer in front of a parchment layer.
Finish with the colors : use aerographer and solid noise with gradient map, then an oilify effect, and then a gaussian blur.
It's done !

I think your font is working against you, though; anything is better than Papyrus.

fourwillows, are you sure ? I thought it was a really good font : clear, elegant and "hand-drawn-like" (?).
May you show me a better font in your opinion, please ?

Finally, I had changed the astral plane. I didn't like the precedent version. Now, it's the great flow (or flux, I don't know which one is the correct word ?) of dead souls. So, the map had changed. See the first post.
What do you think of it ?
