Tutorial GeoControl 2 Tutorial - Desert River

Here is my first tutorial on these forums. I was asked to do a GeoControl 2 tutorial after completing the Desert River map where the program was used to generate the height map of the terrain.

I hope someone will find it useful and not too hard to follow.

I think you maybe forgot to post something?

The damn site won't work without a proxy at this time, so it does cause some minor problems ( I'm not the only one with the problem )

OK, I've downloaded your .PDF and then re-uploaded it to your first post.

Ok, thanks.. I don't know what's the problem with the site. Probably my isp has messed up it's dns server or something. Every other site I use work, except this one.

No problem, you may want to edit your post to take out the direct link.

It's not only you Jykke, I had trouble connecting to this website yesterday as well. All other sites worked and through a proxy this site was reachable as well.

Yeah I had it too. I traced it to DNS as well. I think it was OpenDNS being the culprit but it could have been higher up the chain. Most of the proxies I tried (and I tried lots) were using OpenDNS and eventually giving the page not found OpenDNS page instead. It seemed to be specific to this site. The Campaign Builders group and others were all fine.

I ended up just adding the urls to my hosts file, that solved it for me.

    Add the lines

    68.178.211.90 cartographersguild.com
    68.178.211.90 www.cartographersguild.com
    68.178.211.90 forum.cartographersguild.com

    to the end of c:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts

    That works without proxies.

Great, works like a charm. I hope my tutorial works as well also!
