    Why didn't I think of that? That's a great idea!

    Especially since, sometimes when you've got a lot of layers, merging the layers can have unpredictable results.

    Maybe it's a simple thing, but that comment deserves some rep.

    Create a new empty layer on top of the layer stack then hit Shift+Ctrl+E.

    Hahaha, yeah, I'd noticed I was getting a straigh layer merge, I figured what the hack, but didn't think more about it

    So I'm curious as the drive to create this map. Was it based on any stories? (the map, not R'Lyeh)
    I've been putting together plans to create a tongue-in-cheek R'Lyeh government website complete with webmaps and such and hadn't seen anyone creating stuff like this except for sci-fi, gaming products.

    Just curious is all... very nice map.
