Welcome to the guild geoff!
Lets see some maps...
I am a regular Penny Arcade and PvP reader myself.
I have been puttering around this site since learning about it on Penny Arcade. I have been using the links and resources to help map a D&D 3.5 campaign that I am currently running.
I started out mapping in Autorealm, but have since progressed to using GIMP, RPG City Generator and Macromedia Fireworks.
I am also a bit of a wiz with Google SketchUp. I use it regularly in my professional life as a museum exhibit designer and have lectured on its uses for that purpose at the University of Washington. I have tinkered with SketchUp for map making, but find that it gets too clunky too fast. Still, I have created some aesthetic maps of structures from my campaign and am more than happy to help people out with SketchUp questions.
Nice to see one of the members that came over from the penny arcade announcements. Glad to have you with us (like Gandwarf I'm a regular PA reader).

Also make sure that you show us some of those things, that we here call "structure maps", ie. buildings I use SketchUp a lot as do a dozen or so others here. I have some things for SU in it's own thread somewhere in the Elements section, I think. Welcome to the guild.
If the radiance of a thousand suns was to burst at once into the sky, that would be like the splendor of the Mighty One...I am become Death, the Shatterer of worlds.
