Thread: Aug/Sep Lite Entry - Textbook Treasure!

  1. #1

Post Aug/Sep Lite Entry - Textbook Treasure GOLD!

I am very inexperienced, but I thought I would give this a shot. I am a little sad that there is only 1 other person in this month's challenge, so far. Please join up!

I'm planning on a tiny port town with a pier and a sunken ship that once had treasure (GOLD!) I want the end product to look like it's a textbook illustration teaching students of a historic treasure-laden ship that sunk and was later recovered. Here is the first step of my map:

Interesting start, I like the perspective as you can show things under water.
I would love to participate in this challenge as well, but the rules state I can't

Oh, now this sounds interesting. I'm intrigued to see how this goes. A different approach is sometimes a good thing.

Not sure if I'm heading in the right direction. I have a lot more to do obviously before I finish. I wanted to get some advice. Please critique:

I love where this is going. And having a very different style of map than what's expected won't hurt your chances at all - check mine in the regular competition, I wasn't expecting to get ANY votes

In terms of critique, I would suggest toning down the black edges, maybe a slightly darker tone than the water itself, I find the lines to be a bit harsh and distracting as they are. Definitely need something for the edges like that though.

    Brilliant idea!

    Looks good and looks fun.

    I very much like it!
The transistion from surface to underground might need a black border as well.
