I second the nod to the location names. I think they are very distinctive. You can really feel the cultures shift as you scan around the map reading the names.

As first-maps go, this one is pretty dang sweet. Very nice work.

This is very nice. It somehow has a nordic and right before the Dark Ages time period feel to it.

    Great map, BONUS!

I got an optical illusion when I first looked at your map. The mountain areas seemed like they were inverted. Like huge, cavernous gouges in the land. I saw the mountains when I looked twice, but I kinda liked the immense scars that I saw first time. They invoked my imagination.

Very good first map. 450 XP and an amulet of protection +1.

Looks great! How did you do the mountains? They don't look quite like the ones from Acention's tutorial. Any help our pointers to maybe a different tut for mountains would be great.

Just some minor tweaks on the layer styles. What the tweaks were I dunno.

Awesome first map. Lots of names too, you spent some time on that. Repped.

Its a nice map but this thread is a year old and Bonus posted 2 posts so its prob one for archiving now unless Bonus pops up and continues to make more nice maps like that.

Yes, I changed the bevel size from 3 to 10 and my mountains look similar to this now. Thank you!
