Map Alternate West Africa AD 1800

I made this map a while ago, and now I put it in the Finished Maps thread as I think it catches the old-style quite good, so I hope to give some inspiration to my fellow map making colleagues.

The map was made for an alternate timeline I'm working on for quite some time now. The labeling is in German, but I think the most things are obvious. Hardest task on this map was to check out nearly every town in Wikipedia if it had already existed around 1800 CE (took nearly 4 hours If i remind correctly). I

Created in PS 4, labeling in Inkscape, mountains were all hand made.

Yep, this does capture that old style very well, nice job.

I like it, I'd like it a lot more if I could read German

Hehe, yeah, it stretched the 1 semester I took in German pretty much to its limit.

Hmm, I thought I had posted earlier but I must not have hit the submit button so I'll say it again: Looks great!

Good map, like all I have seen from you. Especially the text is quite authentic. I like your alternate timeline maps very much. Hope to see more soon...
