Thread: WIP/First Map - Qyrona

    Post WIP/First Map - Qyrona

This is my first attempt at a map, primarily under the guidance of RobA's excellent regional GIMP tutorial.

There's a bit of random experiment in there, some of it came out ok. Some of it, not so much! The trees are definitely a sticking point.

Anyway, if you have any constructive criticism, I'd appreciate it.

I'm off for a couple of days, but will be sure to check in when I return.

    Enjoy the weekend!

Looking good modernhamlet, especially for a 1st try! I'm not sure if you compressed this image but if not too late I'd go for a little higher resolution so you can work better on details where needed.

For some reason, the whole image seems a bit fuzzy/blurry to me. But for a 'first try', not bad at all.

I agree, it's a tad fuzzy but... Compared to my first maps, this looks great!

Hopefully the fuzziness is just a combination of a slightly heavy cloud layer and the conversion to jpg.

Here's a small update. Land masked the clouds, sharpened the trees a bit and added snow to the mountains. Saved as png.

What's the best file format for uploads generally?

.JPG or .PNG are what most people use to upload.
