    Post Hello

I will also say G'day and probably fade into lurking like the last guys said. I am also an Aussie but haven't lived there for quite a while. I have been running games and therefore drawing maps since the mid 80s and I was very impressed by what I have seen here so far. Leaves me for dead

If my maps weren't drawn in MS Paint and I knew what I was doing I would share. I think I need to learn how to use GIMP first.

There's a few GIMP tutorials here that will get you up and running in no time at all. Enjoy your stay, whether lurking, commenting or mapping!

    Hi Skirza,

At the guild, we like maps. We don't care what software you use, we like hand-drawn, too. Post up what you've got - nobody laughs.

When I joined, I was using Paint. If I'd lurked, I'd probably still be using Paint.
Why lurk in a gallery when you can talk to Rembrandt and ask questions?

By interacting with the guys here, I've learnt other software, and other techniques, asked questions, posted crappy maps and asked for feedback - and got useful constructive comments in return - and I've found that the best way to learn stuff here is to have a go, post up whatever mess you've managed alone, and get the other guys to talk you through improvements.

We don't mind whether you lurk or participate, but you'll get more out of the site if you participate.

    Welcome to the guild.
