thanks guys. Roman style, sound cool to me (tbh i don't have the slightest knowledge on architecture just scribbling along....
anyway, some more progress. loads of lines need to be improved and I'm trying to get the hang of hills/shades inside the city. Also the scale is not 100% ok everywhere so I may need to rescale some parts (tricky operation on a non-vector line-drawing). Also I'm coming to a point where I see certain buildings are not logical, like the big palace leading not out of the city and the 2nd harbor a bit too close to that palace. Also I need to find a place for some slumbers, not too close to the palace... I guess city-planning is something to take into account earlier next time

Needing improvement or not it's clear to see that it's going to be awesome. Waiting around until I can rep you again. LOL.

Maybe only the rich and middle class are within the city proper and the poor live outside the walls. That's particularly convenient in case of an uprising.

That is indeed a cool looking city.

hi all, thanks for the nice C&C. The slumbers outside the wall is a good idea. I think i'll add them. For now I started experimenting more with coloring, texture and shading. I'm still way off where I want this to go, and maybe i'll redo it in brown/sepia kind of coloring. hmm... well, anyway here's an update. cheers

The grass looks great but I'm not sure that it works with the hand-drawn style of the city. On their own both styles look sweet but together I get a disconnect. No idea on how to make em work together, though, so just keep on keepin on.

Wow. That looks like a lot of work. Some of the individual buildings appear quite complicated. I'm not sure I'd want to try floor plans for some of them to try to match the map. I'm fond of black and white for a lot of things, but the color really gives this some pizazz.
