I originally intended to make a world map in this style, but I accidentally switched the water layer and land layer, and instantly fell in love with the layout.
The map features mountains and forests in (sort of) the same style as the ones in my first map, Oshen-Dan-Desh, though I've added an emboss effect. I can't quite figure out if it works that well, so please let me know what you think.
The setting is a fantasy universe, where two factions of various colorful creatures are locked in an ancient war, the cause of which is fueled by archaic alliances, xenophobia and religious hypocrisy.

I really like the map but I think I would prefer it without the bevel on the forests that you mentioned.
The rest of it looks really hand drawn but that makes the forests look a little plastic and artificial.
