I have surfed this site often for curiosity and for pleasure. I'm not a map maker actually, my passion is actually making terrain and painting minis. I also DM a game with friends that meets once a month. I have been thinking of making more immersive gaming through the use of maps though, just because making terrain pieces is fun, but time consuming and they take up a lot of space so I need to be creative when recycling them into other scenarios.

I look forward to learning more about the skills needed to be a good cartographer.

    cheers,
    Dr. G

    Welcome aboard.

Now, if you can get your digital camera and zoom in on some of these terrains you create maybe we can make some textures for tiles out of them.

I've never tried this but it might make for some nice grasses and forests, etc. Then we could reuse them like mad.

Thus would begin the rise of power for the "Evil Dr. Grignard" in his bid for world domination...muahahaha!

I agree, take some pictures to show off your terrain. And welcome to the guild.

Yeah, 3D terrain is IMHO every bit as much a map as the stuff we post on here. Please post some of your stuff for us to look at. I've done a little terrain building myself but I just don't have room to put it anywhere Maybe we need to start a terrain thread in the general section and post some pics [edit: started a thread here].

Welcome aboard. Say, what kind of terrain are we talking about? Hirst castlemolds stuff perhaps? Or overland stuff with Woodland Scenic? I'd love to see some pics of your work.

    Cheers,
