Default How do I make city maps in google form?

Hi, I'm a newbie, and need to find a tutorial that can help me make city maps like in google maps form, or in the way this guy did it (link below):

I have spend a good part of 8 hours trying to find a way to start this in you tube, and here in the search. I have Adobe Illustrator 2 and CC3. But don't know where to start. Also, if I could find a tutorial to do a regional map, that would be great. Any help would be great now. Thanks!

A Vector program would be ideal here. Inkscape is free if you don't already have one. In a nutshell, you would create paths to lay out your roads and other objects and then stroke the paths with various details to get the right color/line styles.

I agree that you need a vector program for this. You should understand tho that those maps were likely generated dynamically from a data set and programatically rendered.
