Thread: Kingdom of Equinoxe

    Map Kingdom of Equinoxe

    A really big island.
This map was used a lot more than initially planned, Equinoxe is a minor kingdom, pratically unknown to the rest of the world.
During the first levels all adventure was confined to the coasts of this handdrawn piece, now the players are at 7th level they already explored all the main details and went off to distant lands.

It was basically hand drawn, details and overlays added with Photoshp CS3.
Guess I should have used more measurements and rules --it looks like a quick work, I guess.

Already repped you for this after seeing it on your Deviantart gallery. Really nice stuff. Love to see more in this style...I dig the grunge.

Cool! There's another one! Been a fan ever since Blade Runner.

Bladerunner was Vangelis...also a really good composer. Jean-Michel Jarre hasn't (to my knowledge) scored for film but his father, Maurice Jarre has done tons.

Ah. Me ineptum. Still. Liked Oxygene, Equinoxe... there's another one that escapes me 'cause I can't get to iTunes right now.

To the matter at hand. This map looks really nice in thumbnail and actually looks really nice full size. Those mountains really say, "MORE."

I like the way you staged your game. Low level easy on the coast, progressively harder as you move inland. I've never really been good at that as a GM. The hardest part is giving that burnt fingers, back off warning to players who venture beyond their skill areas. I either have to kind of fudge in the player's favor, which kind of damps out the warning value or just watch them die. As a cruel vindictive GM, though, I've managed to teach players caution over time. Those that don't drop out of my games.

I have that sound track...gotta be in the right mood to listen to it though.
