Seeing this come together really makes me want to try to do a handrawn map like this one. It'll probably be horrific, but it'll be fun...I think I'll make a Dj style my next project.

Doing this kind of style can really help you learn about the drawing and painting part of things, that's for sure. It's good practice and everyone should try it a few times just for that...no matter how well you can, or can't, draw. My first one was just average but the second one was a vast improvement so you gotta do a few of em. DJ won three challenges and this one is his best so far.

Echo that. Its winding up to be a really good one. The rocks in particular have no detail yet and still look amazing. Just love the contour to the river. Its got that Crazy Red feel about it too and his stuff was always inspirational as well.
Holy crap man, Lake Aelty is stunningly gorgeous! And I suppose the rest is really great tooI seem to be jealous of all your maps. Keep it up!
