Thread: Best free interior map resource?

Help Best free interior map resource?

Looking for a good (free!) resource for images and the like that can be used for interior design. Taverns, castles, that sort of thing. Top-down would be splendid. I've browsed the forums a bit but what I've found is spotty and a bit scattered...

So once and for all: Best top-down interior furnishings resource? I appreciate it!

rpgmapshare and dunjinni user forums are the two biggies that I know of, there is another one but I can't remember it.

The other is the CSUAC (available here),

You'll find an almost endless supply on the Dundjinni forums, but you'll have to do a theme search to find them:

    http://www.dundjinni.com/forums/forum_topics.asp?FID=8

Everyone needs the CSUAC collection from Cecil Solomon in one of its three versions. You can get it at Gamemaster's Apprentice, but you have to do a free registration first:

    http://www.gmsapprentice.com/

Jeff Albers' RPG Map Share site also is invaluable:

    http://www.rpgmapshare.com

And you also will want to go to Greg Tayllor's Greytale's Nook:

    http://www.greytale.com

If you need buildings top-down from the outdoor view, you'll find around 1,000 of them, based upon medieval European historical structures, under the Cartographic Collection at our site:

    http://www.vintyri.com

Downloads from all of these sites are free.

Dumb question here....I've been trying to log into the gmsapprentice all week (register actually), and every time I hit the register button, absolutely NOTHING happens....I've tried it in IE, Opera, even Netscape, and I'll be darned if I can figure out what the hang-up is. Does anyone have an email address for the webmaster, and/or any ideas as to why I can't seem to register?

    Cheers,
    Colin

You have to be careful what you use as a username on GM's Apprentice, don't use any spaces, underscores or other non-alpha-numeric characters. I had a similar problem when I initially signed up.

Thanks for the heads-up about the username issue; that did the trick (of course, my original username did only had alphanumeric characters, but I just took the numbers out and went with straight letters, and for some goofy reason that worked).

    Cheers,
    Colin
