Default I've been a member here one day, and I've already improved

Mapping is, in my opinion, one of the most fun parts of world building, so while gearing up to write a new fantasy project, I began by first writing a history and second making a detailed series of maps. My maps have been through several iterations so far, and up until yesterday, I was extremely pleased with my efforts.

That is until I found this site.

Some of the maps here are exquisite, some are simply amazing, and yet others are surprising, but they all put my previous efforts to shame. I, of course, could not let this stand, so I found what seemed like a good tutorial, and began re-doing my first map.

Here are the results, before and after:

The difference is staggering. Thank you all so much for having this resource up here-it is invaluable. Special thanks must go to RobA, whose amazing tutorial I followed. Hopefully I can continue to improve.
