hi Raskat, rep = reputation, its how we show that we appreciate someones work. There is a little icon above your picture showing the 1 rep point I've given you. You can give rep by pushing the star symbol on an entry. You can first give rep points when you have 10 rep yourself, but rep without points are also appreciated

In respons to your waterlines. If you place them on their own layer (or perhaps 3 layers) you can in the top right of the layer menu set the opacity of the layer - lower that to 80% for the line closest to the coast, 60% for the next and 40% for the third (just examples) and you'll get closer to that look

Hi tilt and thank you (for the rep and for the advices) .

I've already done something like you have suggested right now. But maybe the results are not so clear . I'll redo it and make it more clear, softening the colors, in the way Daelin said. Thank you again ^^.

That's a marked improvement; I like the softer look of the coastal lines. Tilt had some good advice there too about lowering the opacity of each 'ring' the farther away you get from shore (I'm going to have to try that myself ). Have some rep from me also, Raskat, and welcome to the Guild.

Thank you ^^. I have actually improved it a little (maybe, it depends on how you see it, if improved or not ), but I'm waiting to add some substantial changes before uploading a new copy. Thank you for your precious advices .

Here a texture and minor changes to the map (the frigate art is not mine ). I've experimented a lot, but I'm still not happy. I will add some dirt here and there. I also think I will change some labels. As Midgardsormr said there are probably too many curved labels and too curved . As always any advices are welcome .

You're doing a bang-up job on this so I'll just say great work so far.

Thank you for the support, really appreciated . Today I got a little discouraged after founding the astounding work of dr.Playfair on the Caribbean. I felt like working on a super-crappy version .
But I count on improving my work as much as I can.
